Museums are a very important part of Fall River's history and they play a very important role in where we've been and who we are. They tell the stories of our past through the unique interactive experience of getting up close to things we usually only see in books, newspapers or on the television.

Our museums bring what is taught in schools to life, by seeing artifacts or paintings. For example, if children are learning about the War for Independence, they go to Lafayette Durfee House and see displays that include clothing, furniture, weaponry medical and surgical instruments and much more.

Fall River is home to Battleship Cove, which harbors the largest collection of preserved US Navy ships in the world. Along with the Marine Museum, which displays a 28-foot model of the RMS Titanic and some amazing history of the Fall River Line luxury ships.

Come and step back into time by visiting the many museums for a day or a weekend.
